HAT CARE
Each piece is handcrafted using quality materials and traditional techniques. With proper care, your hat will continue to look better with time and wear.
Everyday care
Store your hat in a cool, dry place
Avoid leaving your hat in a hot car, especially on the dashboard
Store on a hat hook, hat stand, or flat shelf
If your hat gets squished, most indents will pop back out with a bit of steam and gentle reshaping
Think of your hat like a new pair of leather boots — it will mold and shape to your head with time and wear.
Dust, dirt & cleaning
For everyday dust, use a hat brush, hat sponge, lint roller, or tape
For stubborn marks or stains, very fine sandpaper can gently sand away the mark
If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out before attempting anything.
Losing shape or getting beaten up
If your hat has lost its shape, a handheld steamer and gentle reshaping often does the trick
Allow the hat to dry fully before wearing again
I also offer reshaping and restoration services for hats I’ve made
If you’re unsure how to proceed, contact me and I’m happy to help.
Sweatbands
If your sweatband becomes worn or uncomfortable, I offer sweatband replacement for hats I’ve made

Fit adjustments
If your hat feels too big
Hats can naturally shrink slightly over time with exposure to heat and moisture
Foam reducers placed underneath the sweatband can help adjust the fit
If you’d like help sourcing or installing reducers, contact me
If your hat feels too small
Hats can be gently stretched using a hat stretcher
Insert the stretcher into the base of the crown, expand gradually, and apply steam
Allow the hat to dry fully before reshaping the brim
A properly fitting hat may feel snug at first — this helps prevent it from coming off in wind and allows it to mold to your head over time.
Travel with care
Travel with your hat stored securely
Avoid crushing or stacking heavy items on top of it
When in doubt, protect the crown and brim as much as possible
Repairs, reshaping & restorations
At this time, I offer repairs, reshaping, resizing, and restorations only for hats I have made.
Please contact me for availability and pricing.
Warranty & resizing
I offer a one-year workmanship warranty on stitching and sewing for hats I’ve made.
Shipping to the studio is the responsibility of the client, or free local drop-off is available.
All hats are checked for size prior to shipping.
If resizing is needed due to incorrect measurements provided by the client, resizing services are available starting at $85, depending on materials and decorations. Additional time may be required if embellishments need to be removed and reattached.
